Unless your court order forbids others from coming along, either parent can bring along friends or companions.
In consideration of your children’s feelings, check out these tips:
- Don’t introduce someone to your child until you have been dating a long time and things are serious.
Children bond easily. If they grow attached to someone you are dating, they will suffer if you breakup. - Children younger than 5 only need to know you are seeing a friend.
- Show your children they come first. Keep pick-up and drop-off arrangements between Mom and Dad or other friends or relatives that you child knows and trusts. Children want to know who is picking them up.
